Regardless of what you may think of the man, Lance Armstrong still managed to attract a huge audience a few months ago when he decided to ride Tamaki Drive with anyone who fancied the idea of tagging along.
Armstrong went for a ride along Auckland’s waterfront whilst he was in town for business and loved the experience so much he invited the whole city on social media to join him the next morning for a bunch ride.
This bike route is arguably the most beautiful urban ride in New Zealand, following flat, safe off-road cycle lanes the whole way.
Even with all the new bike paths opening up around the city, this ride is still our most popular and attracts a hugely varied audience – everyone from infants riding in the baby seat with Mum, through to the 94-year old gentleman who enjoyed a very leisurely ride to Mission Bay last summer (our oldest customer to date!).
