Auckland guided bike tours
Our privately guided bike tours are a fun, active way to discover Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. They’re also a great way for you to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine (once we’re able to travel again!).
Because of the global COVID-19 crisis, our Auckland guided bike tours are currently only available on request. And our Wellington and Christchurch guided bike tours will hopefully be back in time for Summer 2020-21.

When you book with us, you’ll receive personalised attention from a mature, professional guide. So no need to worry about strangers ruining your experience! And all our tours are sightseeing tours (rather than guided bikes rides) with plenty of stops for photos, local stories and insider knowledge.
Rates include everything needed to make the most of the experience including private guide, bike/e-bike rental, helmet, bottled water, refreshments (all tours) and lunch (full day tours only). Ferry transportation is also included in Auckland island tours.
Our grading system makes it easy for you to choose a tour to suit your level of confidence, fitness and skill on a bicycle (see below).
Half day, full day and multi-day privately guided bike tours are available. And large group tours can easily be managed – please contact us to discuss your requirements. Choose us with peace of mind; we have been the operator of choice for the cruise, conference and incentive market sectors for many years.
For added peace of mind, take a look at our Terms and Conditions including our refund policy and cancellation policy.

Our grading system makes it easy to choose a tour to suit your level of confidence, fitness and skill:
GRADE 2 – soft adventure option suited to all ages and abilities. And gentle, flat terrain.
GRADE 3 – route involves several hill climbs that can be easily walked if necessary. But moderate fitness and bike confidence required. May involve off-road trails and some road riding.
GRADE 4-5 – route includes off-road trails and undulating terrain. A reasonable level of fitness required. Not suited to children or unconfident participants.
How fit do I need to be? All our guided bike tours require a base level of fitness. If you haven’t participated in any physical activity for some time, you will find even our Grade 2 tour challenging, even on an e-bike. A weight limit of 120kgs applies to all guided bike tours.
Do I need any special skills? Yes. To participate in a guided bike tour you must be able to ride a bike confidently and unassisted. Be aware that e-bikes are designed to provide the rider with assistance on hill climbs and the ability to cover longer distances than a standard bike. E-bikes still require the participant to pedal.
How safe is this experience? You will receive a full safety briefing before the tour departs. Group tours will ride with a tour leader at the front and a safety assist rider at the back. Most of the routes we take follow safe, separated cycle lanes with minimal road riding. We have clearly established and industry approved safety standards and well-trained guides. As with all active adventures, there is a requirement for participants to use their own judgement and follow the instructions of the guide and the NZ road rules at all times.
Can I join in a group tour? Only if you book through your cruise excursion partner or conference or incentive programme organiser. All our guided bike tours are privately organised to ensure you receive the best experience possible. We can manage very large group bookings in Auckland as well as multiple private tours at one time. Contact us today to learn more!
